Joey McIntyre has been hanging tough in one of Los Angeles‘ most established luxury neighborhoods since 2007. Known for being the youngest (and possibly cutest) member of the pop group New Kids on the Block, McIntyre is now the ripe old age of 45.
And while his stately East Coast–style home in Hancock Park has provided the right stuff for McIntyre, his wife, Barrett Williams, and their three children for almost 11 years, they’ve put it on the market for $5.8 million.
The boy band heartthrob paid $4.45 million for the place over a decade ago. The four-bedroom, seven-bathroom home was designed by architect Paul Williams in 1925, and was extensively renovated before McIntyre’s purchase. Local restrictions require the owners to keep the facade fairly intact, which means oodles of old-school curb appeal.
The interior also retained its historic charm, which includes features such as a grand entryway, rich wood and marble flooring, built-in bookcases, French doors, and multipaned windows that allow in plenty of California sunshine.
Newer enhancements include an open floor plan, which includes a kitchen with a large island, an adjacent dining nook, and a family room with a fireplace.
The master bedroom also has a fireplace, as well as two balconies accessed by French doors, and a spacious master bath with tile flooring.
The other bedrooms have en suite baths and balconies or bay windows, perfect for curling up with a book on a lazy afternoon.
The backyard is surrounded by hedges, trees, and other mature foliage. There’s a pool and spa, a patio, and lush green lawns. There’s also a cozy guesthouse—ideal for grandparents, nannies, or guests.
McIntyre’s been busy with the other four members of NKOTB. Last year the now-grown boy band performed with Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men on a 44-city North American tour, and have since released an expanded version of their EP titled “Thankful (Unwrapped).”
